Queenston Heights was the first battle in the war of 1812 and also one of the most famous battles fought not far from Niagara-on-the-lake. The war started because of the Americans attempt to establish a foothold on the Canadian side of the river. The Americans got the High grounds, so British was left firing up at them. In result of that, Major General Brock got shot by a hiding sniper. On October 13th, the British lost a hero but got a victory in the war of 1812.
